We donated 100 production hours to Karralika to help them explain and demystify the services they offer the community. One production element we had in the front of our minds was protecting the identity of their clients. However, we also wanted these stories to be genuine. We feel the result both protects, and is genuine without using actors.
Karralika Programs Inc. is a not for profit organisation helping adults and families in the ACT and surrounding regions to address their alcohol and drug dependence through residential and community-based treatment programs.
The Karralika Therapeutic Community featured in this short film provides adults and families with a way to address the underlying reasons for their addiction in a safe and supportive environment, providing them with tools and skills to help them choose a better life for themselves and the people they care about.
This video was developed by Karralika Programs and Informer Multimedia Pty Limited to describe, from a client’s perspective, what the Therapeutic Community is all about and how it is changing their lives.
Information about other programs offered by Karralika is available at karralika.org.au or call 02 6163 0200.
